DDA now VIA
Realizing that forming a DDA District will realize very little funding, expend considerable time, and require physical energy
for very little accomplishments, the committee has reinvented itself so it can actual accomplish some of those changes.
The Village Council has made a commitment to fund as many projects as funding and time will allow. The Council has already purchased banners, planned park improvements, and funded many of the projects that the DDA had hoped to develop.
The DDA Study Committee is now the Village Improvement Association.
This group will make recommendations and assist the Village Council as they work to make improvements for the Village and it's residents. This includes beautification, garden work, structure construction, and creating and working to establish fun family oriented activities for Village and surrounding area residents.
This group is now open to any and all residents and property owners within the village, and any businesses in the vIllage or surrounding area.
If you are interested in improving the Village of Carsonville or helping to organize activities you are invited to join this group. They will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Village Council Chambers. Just give Sue a call at 657-9400 and let her know you want to be added to our mailing list.

Committee working for Improvements
Last fall we applied for DIG grant to improve our downtown and main street area. Our goal in this grant application was to get some street landscaping done - lights, benches, plantings.
We did not succeed in receiving this grant. We will continue to work toward this grant and these goals.
One of the items that failed to give us points toward this grant was our lack of formal DDA -Downtown Development Authority.
We have started a committee that is in the process of developing such an authority. Members to this committee are welcomed, all you need to do is volunteer if you meet one of the following requirements.
1. You own or operate a business within the proposed
2. You reside in the Village and have an interest in the development of the proposed district.
3. You are part of the local government
You will see attached in the files area a current list of study committee members.
This group is meeting rather informally every two month for a one hour meeting to develop a DDA Proposal.
To date the committee has looked at the Village from the past, current and future of downtown/main street area.
Attached below you will find minutes and agendas for these meetings.
